Why isn't my site showing in Google search?

Your website is new and Google doesn't know it exists therefore you won't be found in Google's search engine. By default all of our websites are set not to be indexed by Google which means that if in the future a Google Crawler came across your site because it was linked from elsewhere, it would ignore it and your pages wouldn't get indexed. The reason it's set like this is because 90% of our communities are closed and only accessible to parents. PTA's share the link to their PTA website via the school website, Facebook pages or school newsletters.

For those organisations that want to be found by Google, you will need to register with Google webmaster tools:

https://www.google.com/webmasters/#?modal_active=none

You will need to select "URL Prefix" and then enter the web address (URL) of your PTA Events website:

Then to verify your ownership of the website, you will need to verify using a HTML tag. Click "Copy" to copy the entire HTML tag and then get the contents of the "content" attribute - eg W-BWyAI5t_aILls8eq1V13CAzo8jr2pzIVHEyNNXJqw

<meta name="google-site-verification" content="W-BWyAI5t_aILls8eq1V13CAzo8jr2pzIVHEyNNXJqw" />

You can gain ownership by pasting the "Google Verification Code" into the "Admin" > "PTA Details" > "Search Engines & Analytics" tab and then the "Google Verification Code" field. Once you have done this, click "Verify" in Google webmaster tools to finish the process.

You can also add a Google Analytics code which which will allow you to track visitors to your website.
