Why can we only use Stripe?

From the 1st October 2019, we will only support Stripe for processing credit / debit card payments. We have done this for a number of reasons:


  • Stripe offer the cheapest rates for charities / non-profits. Business rate is 1.5% + 20p or 1.2% + 20p if you are a registered charity or can prove your non-profit status
  • In our opinion Stripe offer a better level of customer service
  • In our opinion Stripe have the best product for processing credit / debit card payments
  • Stripe also have Apple / Google Pay built in
  • Stripe also have access to a whole host of other payment methods which we will look to intgerate to ensure frictionless checkout
  • Stripe offer easier integration across a range of platforms (web, iOS, Android)
  • Maintaining multiple payment processors across different platforms is costly when there's really no need to offer more than one card processor
  • Manually invoicing the platform fee is expensive and Stripe handle this automatically
  • With Stripe we can offer more integration.
