Both PTA Events and Stripe take fraud prevention extremely seriously. To support this, we provide an Early Fraud Warning (EFW) report, using data available directly from Stripe.
An Early Fraud Warning occurs when a card issuer flags a payment as potentially fraudulent before a formal chargeback is submitted. When this happens, Stripe notifies you via email and displays the warning in your Stripe dashboard.
Chargebacks can be costly and can negatively impact your reputation as a merchant with card networks such as Visa and Mastercard. A poor chargeback record may result in your account being classified as high risk, which can ultimately lead to account restrictions or closure.
While an Early Fraud Warning does not automatically require action, Stripe recommends reviewing the flagged payment and considering issuing a refund. Taking early action may help prevent a dispute from escalating into a chargeback.
You can view the Early Fraud Warning report in Stripe by navigating to Reports > Early Fraud Warnings
The report includes the following details:
Charge ID
Order ID
Customer ID
Customer name
Customer email
