Can I ask for donations?

Yes, you can use your PTA Events/Clubs Hub/Charity Hub website to ask for donations. To do this you first need to create an event which you then add the a "Donation" product too.

Please see the following FAQ on how to set up an event here - How can I add an event? : PTA Events / Clubs Hub / Charity Hub Support (freshdesk.com)

The price you enter will be a suggested amount but your customers can change this price. You'll also need to set a high stock quantity.

When your customers checkout they'll need to change quantity to 1 to show they want to add this product to their basket.

When your customers go through the checkout process they will be asked to fill in the Gift Aid declaration form:

If you have a "Compulsory" or "Voluntary" fee set for the event then this will be applied to the basket before they can checkout. This is because the payment processors we use will charge you this fee regardless of whether it's a ticket or donation etc

There is also a "Variable priced" product. This also allows your customers to choose their own amount but does not push them through the Gift Aid declaration form.

You can see in your "Treasurer by Event report" who's agreed to the gift aid declaration.

Here's also a link to HMRC's guidelines on donations and gift aid for charity events for your information.
