Can I password protect a product?

In some situations, you may want to restrict access to a product so that only selected customers can purchase it. This can be done by setting a password on the product, which customers must enter before they are able to buy it.


Setting a Product Password

  1. From the Product Admin page, locate the relevant product.

  2. Open the Manage menu and select Edit.



3. Scroll down to the Product Password field. 


4. Enter a password for the product.

  • Passwords must be between 5 and 20 characters.

  • Passwords are not case sensitive.


5. Scroll down and click Update Product to save your changes.


Once the password has been set, you can share it with the appropriate customers.


Managing Password-Protected Products

You can easily see which products are password protected from the Product Admin page, allowing you to manage access at a glance.




Customer Experience on the Shop Page

On the Shop page, password-protected products cannot be purchased until the correct password is entered. Customers will be prompted to enter the password when viewing the product.


Once the correct password is entered, the Add to Basket button will become available, allowing the customer to proceed with their purchase.
