When someone creates an account on your website, we now ask them to confirm their email address before they can log in. This helps make sure every account on your site belongs to a real person, and protects your organisation from fake or fraudulent sign-ups.
What your customers will see
- They fill in the registration form and submit it as normal.
- We send them an email asking them to confirm their email address.
- They click the verification link in that email.
- If your organisation requires new customers to be approved, they'll see a message letting them know their account is awaiting your approval. Otherwise, they're taken straight to the login page.
- Once verified (and approved, if required), they can log in as normal.
Why this matters
Verifying email addresses helps to:
- Confirm your customers can be reached at the email address they've given you
- Reduce fake or bot registrations on your website
- Keep your customer records accurate and up to date
Do I need to do anything?
No - this happens automatically. Your customers can't log in until they've verified their email, so there's nothing extra for you to set up or manage.
